It seems like musicians Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo have decided to musically blast veteran singer Phina Mugerwa, the Vice Chairperson Board of Trustees at the Uganda National Cultural Center (UNCC).
Phina Mugerwa more known by her stage name Phina Masanyalaze recently spearheaded a campaign to censor the two singers citing their singing of vulgar songs. The two were summoned but never turned up. UCC has also banned the two singers’ songs from playing on TV and Radio.
One of Phina’s resolutions was barring promoters from booking the two singers. Although the majority of the public supported the two musicians being blacklisted, not everyone did. They have also decided to fire back at Phina in two separate songs.
Gravity was the first to release his song ‘Omukadde Namugerwa’ which directly hits out at Phina. He accuses the character he sings about in the song of bedding young boys as well as foiling other people’s success.
Lil Pazo too on the other hand didn’t spare Phina as he advised her to accept that she’s aged and no longer appealing to the younger generation.
She should therefore sit herself out of certain issues and stop trying to foil other people’s plans. It’s not known how the Bampasudde singer will react to this chain of events. Besides, it’s also waiting to see if any promoter will boom any of the two singers in this upcoming festive period.
