Singer Mudra is set to stand for a parliamentary seat in the upcoming general elections slated for 2026. The news was broken by his friend and TikToker, Winnie Wa Mummy.
During an exclusive interview on Spark TV, Winnie said that Mudra is planning to contest for the MP seat and his pals already refer to him as Honorable.
“Mudra is going to contest as an MP in Kawempe in 2026. We even already call him Honorable,” she said.
The singer, a Kawempe native has severally expressed his pride in being born from there. It’s not clear if this is credible because he himself hasn’t yet expressed his intentions.
However, if he does contest, he’s likely to stand against Hon Kazibwe Bashir of Kawempe South. The Sompino singer will most definitely stand on a NUP ticket because this is where most entertainers have found a belonging and voice.
Other singers have also already expressed their interest in running for office in the upcoming general elections such as Nina Roz.
Ever since Bobi Wine joined active politics, there has been a massive influx of artists into leadership.
