Gravity Omutujju's Controversial Song "Omunio" Leaves Fans With Mixed Reactions

Local kidandali artist, Gravity Omutujju, has perfected the art of dropping controversial tracks, and he’s back with his latest release titled “Omunio”. The artist combines two words in this song, with one being quite unpleasant.

In Luganda, “Omunio” refers to the excretory part of a person, or buttocks. In street slang, it’s considered a very crude and obscene term.

However, the singer seems to extend it by adding more letters to create ‘Omunyongole,’ which refers to people from the Northern region, particularly among Bantu-speaking communities. The lyrics maintain Gravity’s signature style, as he expresses admiration for a girl from Gulu.

She requests that he accompany her without stopping along the way. During the journey, he feels thirsty, and her supply of water isn’t sufficient to satisfy him.

This song is straightforward in conveying the singer’s message. It has already started to gain traction on various media platforms, with many anticipating it will be a hit.

Over the years, the artist has faced criticism for producing songs considered vulgar and inappropriate for younger listeners, yet these are primarily the audiences that enjoy his music. His most infamous track was Okwepicha.

This song gained considerable popularity, leading him to reap significant benefits from its success. Nevertheless, he faced backlash regarding the implications of its lyrics, which clearly alluded to people chewing themselves.

If the new track Omunio becomes a massive success, it won’t be a surprise, as this style has become synonymous with the ‘Walumbe Zaaya’ singer’s brand.
