Buganda Kingdom Prime Minister Owek Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga has denied rumors of Namibia having any issues with the Buganda Kingdom.
Mayiga said that everything was well, what happened was resolved amicably and nothing more is going on.
The king of Buganda Kabako Ronald Mwenda Mutebi 11 was struggling with sickness and was transferred to Namibia to get better treatment. He hasn’t been very well for the past three years.
His stay in Namibia triggered some differences among the other Buganda leaders who did not have direct communication with him. Even some Baganda were ranting on social media asking to see their king.
It was explained that he is not doing well but he is getting treatment and feeling better day by day.
Instead of being patient, some chiefs of the kingdom flew to Namibia to confront the officials about why they were hiding their king.
It was very ugly in that President Museveni got involved. After a three-month treatment, Namibia refused to extend Kabaka’s visa to continue with the treatment.
According to Katikiro Mayiga, as a kingdom, they understood the reason and they don’t have any issues with the country.
“There are no issues between the Kingdom and Namibia,” Owek. Katikiro Charles Mayiga.
