The Youths State Minister Hon Balaam Barugahara has confirmed that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will aid bedridden singer Dr. Jose Chameleone and fly him to the US for specialized advanced treatment.
The singer has now spent a couple of days hospitalized at Nakasero Hospital.
As per his son, Abba Marcus Mayanja, he suffers from acute pancreatitis caused by repeated alcohol usage. Balaam said that the President will facilitate this movement for the singer.
Balaam added that the treatment the ‘Jamila’ singer gets will aid him to live for another 40 years so that he can do what he does best, sing. The Minister also addressed the issue of Chameleone’s son who criticized his father.
According to Balaam, the son has a right to put his father in order if he feels he’s erratic after all children are supposed to act like guides to their parents.
“Chameleone is one of my favorite artists who I have promoted and worked with for a long time. I’m only hoping that he recovers soon so that he gets back to what he does best. President Museveni is also preparing to see that the singer is flown to the US for expatriate treatment. We want to add him 40 more years to live,” said Balaam.
Chameleone is one of Museveni’s favorite musicians in Uganda. One of the President’s favorite songs from the singer is Basima Ogenze. Chameleone has also met and received numerous favors from President Museveni.
