Desire Luzinda has urged the emerging artist Gloria Bugie to refrain from using indecent behavior to boost her career.
The former singer, who now lives in the United States, returned to Uganda to support gospel artist Levixone at his concert tonight in Mbarara at University Inn.
When asked about her thoughts on the current music scene, particularly regarding female artists who resort to n!dity for promotion, Desire expressed that this approach is entirely misguided. She indicated that while it may lead to quick recognition, this fame is fleeting.
In the long term, it leaves individuals feeling broken and damaged. There is no real benefit aside from the momentary attention. Therefore, she encouraged these artists to focus on their inherent talents. Having experienced similar controversies herself, Desire feels qualified to offer this advice.
“I would like to counsel young aspiring female artists to abstain from such behaviors. They might seem to produce immediate outcomes, making you popular and trending. But as someone who has been through this situation, I assure you there is nothing advantageous about it. It leads only to emotional distress and regret,” Desire Luzinda stated.
It is important to mention that the singer experienced a leaked viral video in 2014, released by her then-envious Nigerian boyfriend, Franklin Emuobor. This incident gained immense attention in Uganda, leading her to release a song titled ‘Ekitone’ in celebration of the events depicted in the video.
However, she subsequently became a born-again Christian and left her previous lifestyle behind. Recently, Gloria Bugie found herself in a similar situation with her private video surfacing in public domains.
Since then, she has been capitalizing on the notoriety stemming from this video, suggesting that even more content could be forthcoming.
