It’s been a morning of jubilation for the Fangone Forest soldiers as the Chief Magistrates Court in Makindye granted singer, Patrick Mulwana alias Alien Skin bail.
The ‘Lockdown’ singer received a cash bail of Shs 1 million as well as noncash bail of Shs 5m to his three sureties each on the case of assault on Nsambya Hospital staff.
Chief Magistrate Esther Adikini presided over the court. His lawyers apparently revealed that the singer had reached a compensation plea bargain with the aggrieved parties. This was one of the two cases in which Alien Skin was accused.
The other is an accusation of robbing cash of Shs 480, 000, a wallet plus an iPhone. This was allegedly committed by the singer on one Salim Mubiru at H&M restaurant in September.
Judge Adikini further revealed that the complainant had decided to withdraw the case and settle it amicably with the singer. Bail application terms were also set and met by the singer’s legal team.
According to the Judge, the sureties presented by Alien Skin’s legal team were substantial. She then said that Alien and the complainant could go ahead to resolve the matter outside court.
The conditions for bail set for the Fangone Forest boss include “the accused not leaving the country without the permission of the court, have been set. Sureties are also expected to pay Ugx3M.”
A mammoth crowd full of his supporters led by several singers were gathered outside court premises and celebrated as soon as ‘Kimenke’ got his bail granted.
