National Unity Platform party Principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, aka Bobi Wine, has expressed concern over Tiktoker Juma Musuuza, aka Madhubala’s continued detention.
According to Bobi Wine, Madhubala was violently abducted from Kisaasi about two months back while he hawked shoes (his daily hustle).
He noted that his friend was thereafter detained incommunicado at the CMI (now DSI) facility in Mbuya from where he was tortured for two weeks.
Kyagulanyi revealed that “during the torture, Madhubala was interrogated about the videos he posts on his social media accounts, which his abductors considered ‘anti-regime’”.
The former presidential candidate says Madhubala was ordered to work for them and promote the regime instead.
“After two weeks, they took him to Court which remanded him to Kigo Prison on charges of cyber harassment arising from his “anti-regime” posts. Our human rights team and Party officials have since visited him to help him out of this unfortunate situation”, he added.
Bobi Wine condemned this blatant impunity and abuse of state institutions by what he called the criminal regime stressing that they ‘must never allow the regime to normalize this abuse’.
