VIDEO: Moneybag Don Nasser Remanded to Luzira, All You Need to Know

Kampala City socialite and self-proclaimed moneybag Nasser Nduhukire, aka Don Nasser, and Promise Gatete are in hot soup, again.

The two have been arraigned before Buganda Road Court on charges of aggravated human trafficking of a minor for sexual exploitation.

Nasser and Gatete have denied the charges but have been remanded to Luzira Prison, awaiting to be committed to the High Court to face trial since their charges carry a maximum penalty of death.

The accused will be returned to court on October 8, 2024.

What we know

Reports suggest that Nasser, like many other self-styled tycoons, is a conman and has been associated with gold deals though he has done and said everything possible to distance himself from those dubious dealings.

Nasser was reported to have conned a Dubai based loaded businessman of $5M and fled to Kampala where he is believed to be hiding for a log time.

Furthermore, Nasser used late singer AK47’s Widow Nalongo Maggie Kaweesi who was his then girlfriend to get close to his yet to be identified victim.

According to Maggie, Nasser used her to defraud the woman because she had a soft spot for the late singer’s baby mama and he rode on this to eventually fleece her.

After several attempts to get in touch with Nasser, the woman realized she was conned and ran to the authorities.

He is reported to be hiding in Kampala and can never step into Dubai again without being arrested on the spot.

As for Maggie, she has been banned from ever coming near to Fly Emirates.

Like many of Uganda’s mystery tycoons, he appeared from nowhere and took over the social scene with his swanky rides and splashing cash.

Little is known about him and his past.

His education background is just as sketchy although he brags to friends that he is a civil engineer by profession.

Nasser lives in Kiira in a plush mansion estimated to be worth Shs1.2Bn. He is also the famous chap with a road named after him in the Municipality known as ‘Nasser Lane’.

Reports indicate that after Nasser turned Mastullah into his financial manager at Shine Properties, a company he owns, the two lovers are now business partners.

He also spends rather abnormally every time he is out.
